Starting a New Tank

Quarantine of live rock, corals and fish is crucial. Every coral needs to be dipped and inspected prior to being added to a tank. Know the inverts natural predator/parasites so you know what to look for.

New tank systems often suffer from the aptly named 'New Tank Syndrome' this often manifests itself in a blanket of Red Slime Algae and can be treated by correcting the tank parameters (see Tank Parameters).
